Your Chicago: Al Fresco Dining
(CBS) -- There is no better summer destination in Chicago than a table outdoors.
CBS 2's Kate Sullivan checks out three new hot spots.
Across the city, as soon as the temperatures take off a table outdoors becomes prime real estate.
From downtown to the West Loop to Streeterville, there are great new hot places to enjoy al fresco dining.
Right across from the Art Institute, Alpana Singh's new Seven Lions offers a 70-seat patio, burgers, salads and a great city atmosphere next to all the city's cultural offerings.
"This is what it really means to be in the city, to be outside, experience the city, watching people walk by and hearing the sounds," Singh says.
Another great destination is in the West Loop, a block from trendy Randolph Street. It is called Parlor Pizza Bar, and offers more than just pizza.
Michael Bisbee is proud of the world-class pizza salads and general great vibe that the restaurant offers, with two separate outdoor dining options.
And then there is Streeterville Social.
Loew's Hotel CEO Jonathan Tisch is proud of the city's newest outdoor space and – at 10,000 square feet – the largest.
With stunning views and plenty of room, Streeterville Social is poised to become a must-see destination.
"Hopefully, it'll last well into the fall, even though you might need a sweater in October," Tisch says of the outdoor option. "But Chicagoans, they're tough, they can take it."
