Yemen Official: Arrested Woman Didn't Mail Bombs
WASHINGTON (AP) - A Yemeni official says authorities in Yemen no longer believe a woman arrested Saturday was the person who mailed two powerful bombs to the U.S.
The official in Washington tells The Associated Press that the young engineering student wasn't the same person who signed the shipping manifesto.
Her release on bail means authorities no longer have anyone in custody in connection with the attempted terrorist attack bearing the hallmark of al-Qaida.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the investigation, says the shipping agent who received the packages says it wasn't the same woman.
Yemeni officials believe someone used the woman's identity when the packages were sent.
