Wrigleyville Prepares For Game 3 Of NLCS
CHICAGO (CBS) -- No one in Wrigleyville is thinking about Cubs' losses in the first two games of the NLCS, as it's all about Game 3 back at Wrigley Field.
CBS 2's Marissa Bailey reports crowd controls are on standby and television crews from across the country have arrived. So too have the players, and preparations are underway around Wrigleyville for the big Game 3 Tuesday night.
"The energy is definitely a lot different," said David Colon of Wrigleyville Sports. "We've had a lot more customers come into the store, a lot more questions about upcoming merchandise and it's a much happier atmosphere too."
And that means better numbers for Wrigleyville Sports, which traditionally sees a slow October.
"We're getting our 'Take October hoodies in, which has probably been one of our highest selling items here in the store," Colon said. "We'll hopefully get all that situated before the madness tomorrow."
And Colon isn't the only store expecting madness Tuesday night.
Zam Zam Middle Eastern restaurant on Clark is, among other things, increasing staff.
"Tuesday night normally we have two employees with a manager," owner Samer Ayyad said. "Tomorrow it's going to be around seven to eight people working. We're tripling the amount of food we're bringing in tomorrow, and we're sure it's going to be gone."
Alderman Tom Tunney's office encourages neighbors in the area to start carrying identification or a proof of residency starting Tuesday night as security is expected to only get tighter as time goes on.
