Wounded Motorist Drives Himself To Hospital
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A motorist was shot while driving home early Saturday in the West Side Lawndale neighborhood.
An 18-year-old man was driving in the 2400 block of South Rockwell Street at 2:30 a.m. when he heard shots and felt pain in his lower back, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.
He drove himself to nearby St. Anthony Hospital where he was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound to the lower left back, Estrada said.
No one is in custody and Area Central detectives are investigating.
