Worker Shot In Face, Abdomen During Store Robbery
CHICAGO (STMW) - A 53-year-old store worker was shot multiple times during a robbery at a Park Manor neighborhood store Wednesday night on the South Side.
A gunman shot the worker about 6:50 p.m. inside a store in the 7100 block of South Rhodes Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien, citing preliminary information.
The 53-year-old man was shot in the face and abdomen area and is hospitalized in critical condition, police said. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with trauma, Fire Media Affairs Chief Kevin MacGregor said.
The shooter fled after the robbery and is not in custody Wednesday night.
Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
