Worker Hurt On CTA Yellow Line
SKOKIE, Ill. (STMW) -- A construction worker was injured early Tuesday while working on the CTA Yellow Line in Skokie, reportedly after a steel beam fell on the worker's leg.
The transit agency received word about 3:34 a.m. that the worker had been injured while working on the rail line near Oakton Street, CTA spokeswoman Kim Myles said, citing preliminary information.
The person was transported to an area hospital, Myles said, but further information about the person's injuries were not immediately known.
Dispatch reports indicated a steel beam fell on a worker's leg and that paramedics worked to free the person before taking the worker to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston.
Skokie police and fire departments were not immediately available for comment.
