Wootton Has MRI After Leaving Practice With Hip Injury
By Adam Hoge-
BOURBONNAIS, Ill. (CBS) -- Corey Wootton's impressive training camp hit a speed bump Thursday when he left practice with a hip injury.
Head coach Marc Trestman called it "a ding on his hip" and revealed that the defensive end would have an MRI performed, but they did not expect the injury to be serious.
Unlike left tackle Jermon Bushrod and middle linebacker D.J. Williams, who suffered calf injuries this week, Wootton did not make an appearance at the Olivet Nazarene University dining hall for lunch after practice.
With Wootton out, Shea McClellin received more first-team reps and Kyle Moore moved up to the third defensive end spot.

Bushrod was out of his walking boot, but did not participate in Thursday's practice. With Jonathan Scott nursing a sore knee for the second straight day, Eben Britton continued to take the bulk of the reps at left tackle, but J'Marcus Webb also saw time over there for the first time in training camp.
Williams was still in a walking boot and will likely be wearing it for a while after being listed as week-to-week.
Defensive end Jamaal Anderson also sat out practice with a sore knee and cornerback Tim Jennings was excused from practice for the second day in the row for personal reasons.
Lance Briggs received a day off, giving rookie linebacker Jon Bostic a chance to call defensive plays on the first team.
