Woods Off To Strong Start At Bridgestone With 68
AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- Tiger Woods' knee looked as strong as he said it was. His game didn't look half bad either.
Playing for the first time in nearly three months, Woods made three birdies and opened with a 2-under-68 in the first round of the Bridgestone Invitational.
The gallery was so large when he teed off that fans covered the entire length of the first hole and then wrapped around the green.
In a 78-man field, it seemed as though only one score mattered on Thursday.
Jason Day didn't have a big crowd, just the best score. He shot a 63, in the morning when the conditions were at their softest. Adam Scott, who now has Woods' old caddie, was at 8 under with one hole to play.
