Woodridge Man Charged In NW Side Murder
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A Woodridge man is being held without bond for the alleged murder of an Aurora man last Thursday on the Northwest Side.
Miguel Vazquez, 26, of the 7900 block of Everglade Avenue in Woodridge, was charged with one count each of first-degree murder and possession of cannabis, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
Vazquez is accused of fatally shooting Roberto Solomon about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 4 in the 4300 block of West Dickens Avenue.
Solomon, 33, of 424 Forest Ave. in Aurora, was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. An autopsy determined Solomon died of a gunshot wound to the chest and his death was ruled a homicide.
Vazquez was booked into the Cook County Jail Saturday and is being held without bond, according to the sheriff's office website. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
