Woman Wakes To Find Male Home Invader Wearing Panties
ORLAND PARK, Ill. (STMW) -- A southwest suburban woman awoke to find a strange man standing over her bed wearing only a sweatshirt and women's underwear early Wednesday, authorities said.
Cook County Sheriff's police are asking for the public's help in identifying the man who broke into the home in the 16400 block of Lee Avenue in Orland Park about 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said the man did not steal anything.
The woman told police she woke up because she heard a child in the home calling to her. She saw a man standing above her. He was wearing only a black hoodie and women's underwear, a release from the sheriff's office said.
The woman saw him move to the foot of the bed and lay down in an apparent attempt to avoid being seen, the release said. But when a man in the room yelled out, the suspect replied in a deep voice, then calmly walked out.
The adults in the home checked on the children in the home and found all were unharmed. Though the suspect walked past valuable items en route to the bedroom, nothing appeared to be missing.
A side door was open and it is likely the way the suspect entered and left the home that way, the release said.
The suspect is a white man, 20-30, about 6 feet tall with a thin build and long light-colored hair pulled back into a ponytail or bun, the release said.
Anyone with information should call the sheriff's office at (708) 865-4896 or (847) 635-1188.
