Police responded at 2:22 a.m. on Saturday to an alarm at the Shoe Carnival at 304 S. Route 59 in Naperville and learned a Mini Cooper crashed through the front door and left the scene, according to a Naperville police release.
The car left the scene, and Naperville police issued a public request for help in finding the car and driver.
Early Sunday though, the driver, 23-year-old Kathryn A. Miller, of the 1000 block of Fairway Drive in Naperville, called police and told them she wanted to turn herself in.
Miller told police she fell asleep at the wheel while driving her 2007 Mini Cooper and crashed into the Shoe Carnival store, a release early Sunday from police said. She was then charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and will be released from custody after posting bond.
