Woman Suffers Minor Injuries In Tinley Park Carjacking
TINLEY PARK (CBS) -- An elderly woman suffered minor injuries during a carjacking Wednesday in southwest suburban Tinley Park, Mayor Ed Zabrocki said Thursday.
The carjacking took place at about 3:20 p.m. in the 16100 block of South Harlem Avenue, police said.
The woman was stopped in traffic when two men approached and asked for directions, and one man demanded that she get out of her vehicle and surrender her car and purse, police said.
The man threatened to shoot her but did not display a gun, police said. The man forcibly removed her from the car and drove away.
The victim described the men as white, in their early 20s with medium builds and dark complexions, police said. Both were approximately 5-foot-10 and neither was clean shaven, police said.
The woman suffered minor cuts on her hands, Zabrocki said. She was treated at the scene, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police at (708) 444-5368.
