Ryan Thompson, 21, of the 1300 block of West 80th Street is charged with criminal sexual assault, unlawful restraint and domestic battery, all felonies, police said.

Although Thompson remains hospitalized, he was ordered held without bond Friday afternoon, Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin said.

He was arrested at 5 a.m. Wednesday at his home after the victim stabbed him to try and get away, police said. She had gone to his home after he told her he wanted her to pick up some items belonging to their child, court records show.

Thompson and the victim had not dated for 18 months, court records said. She had filed eight past domestic battery reports against him, but in each case declined to prosecute.

In the latest incident, Thompson held her at his apartment for four days from Saturday, Oct. 16, until Wednesday.

He began to beat her after accusing her of having a new boyfriend, prosecutors said. He then slammed her head and face against a wall, and punched her in the eye, a police report said.

When she tried to use a phone, he allegedly said, "If you say anything stupid I will kill you,'' the report said. He then grabbed her, sexually assaulted her and made her take a shower afterward, the report said.

The next day, he held her in the apartment by locking the security gate outside the door, according to the report. The abuse culminated on Wednesday when he beat her in the face with closed fists, then threw her to the ground, sat on her chest and again beat her in the face, court records said.

When she broke free and tried to ask for help out a window, he allegedly picked her up and dangled her from the window, with her waist and legs hanging out and said, "You think you gone leave out of here alive you either GON leave out f----- up or dead,'' the report said.

He then threw her on the bed sat on top of her chest so she couldn't breathe, court records indicate.

Throughout the four days, he had threatenirf her with a rusted steak knife. But on the last day, she was able to grab the knife from him, cutting her hands on the blade. A struggled ensued and the blade broke off, with Thompson holding on to the handle. She then stabbed him in self-defense and pushed him off, court records said.

A neighbor heard her screams and called 911. Police and paramedics arrived and she threw a set of keys to allow police through the gate, court records indicate.

Police said Thompson had called an ambulance for himself after being stabbed. When officers arrived, an ambulance was on scene treating him.

Police found the victim with visible bruises and lacerations all over her body. At the hospital, she was treated for a fractured jaw, multiple bite marks and defense wounds to her hands from the blade, court record said.

Thompson, who has no criminal history, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Nov. 10, Conklin said.
