CHICAGO (CBS) — A 24-year-old woman was critically injured Wednesday night after being shot while driving on Chicago's South Side.

Just after 9:30 p.m., police said the woman was in a car in the 1500 block of East 95th Street when someone driving in a silver SUV started shooting.

The woman suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. 

It's unclear what led up to the shooting. 

As of Thursday, no arrests have been made. 

Area 2 detectives were investigating.
