Woman Shot, Three Arrested In Home Invasion
OAK LAWN, Ill. (STMW) - A woman was shot in the arm early Wednesday when three armed males entered her southwest suburban Oak Lawn home.
Police responded at 12:15 a.m. to a home invasion with a person shot in the 1000 block of Buell Court in Oak Lawn, according to a release from Oak Lawn police. A 24-year-old woman was shot in the arm by three armed males.
A male relative of the woman fired a shotgun at the men but missed, the release said. The males fled in a blue sports-utility vehicle and minutes later a police officer attempted to stop a vehicle matching the vehicle's description at West 95th Street and South Central Avenue.
The SUV fled and was pursued by police north on South Harlem Avenue into Summit, the release said. The males jumped out of the moving vehicle at West 61st place and South Harlem Avenue.
Two males were caught soon after and three firearms were recovered from the vehicle, the release said. The third male was captured two hours later in the same area.
A fourth male, who is still at large, is described as black, in his early 20s, the release said. He was last seen wearing jeans and a sports jersey with stripes.
The woman, who is the wife of the homeowner, was treated and released from Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, the release said. There were no other injuries.
Oak Lawn police are investigating.
