Woman Shot, Seriously Hurt In Home Invasion
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A woman is in serious condition after she was shot during a home invasion in the West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
The woman, 20, was shot after a male suspect forced his way into a home in the 1000 block of North Springfield Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.
They exchanged words, then the suspect shot her before fleeing, Zala said.
The woman was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in serious condition for a gunshot wound to the abdomen, he said.
Area North detectives are investigating.
