Woman Shot Inside Her Own Home During Domestic Dispute
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman was shot in the buttocks Sunday morning inside her Austin community home by a man during a domestic fight on the West Side.
At 10:24 a.m., a man in his 20s shot a 27-year-old woman he knows during a domestic altercation inside her home in the 5000 block of West Division Street, according to police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez.
The woman was taken in good condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, said Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford.
Perez said the shooter fled on foot before police arrived at the scene and the suspect not in custody as of 12:45 p.m.
Unconfirmed dispatch reports indicate there were shell casings or rounds found on the scene, including ones that needed to be recovered from walls of apartments on the first and second floor of the residence.
Grand Central Area detectives remained on the scene.
