Woman Shot In Lawndale
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Three people are in custody after a woman was shot Monday morning in the West Side Lawndale neighborhood.
The shooting occurred at 8:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of South California Avenue, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
The 18-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the leg or hip area, Mirabelli said. Condition and hospital information were not immediately available.
Three males seen running through an alley were taken into custody and are being questioned, Mirabelli said.
The Maria Saucedo Scholastic Academy, a CPS elementary school at 2850 W. 24th Blvd. is located several blocks from the shooting.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
