Woman Sexually Assaulted On Waveland Avenue In East Lakeview
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman was sexually assaulted early Thursday in the East Lakeview neighborhood – on the densely-populated stretch of Waveland Avenue between Wrigley Field and Boystown.
Police say the attack occurred on Waveland Avenue just west of Halsted Street.
It appeared that the woman was forced into a gangway between the Whole Foods store at 3640 N. Halsted St. – in the same building as the Center on Halsted Gay and Lesbian community center – and an apartment building just to the west on the south side of Waveland Avenue.
Police evidence technicians were on the scene Thursday morning. Further information was not immediately available.
