Police Release Surveillance Photos Of Suspect In Rogers Park Rape

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago police have released surveillance video images of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in Rogers Park near the Loyola University campus early Wednesday morning.
CBS 2's Chris Martinez reports a construction worker heading to his job site heard the desperate screams of the victim and called police.
Now Chicago police are searching for the person who raped the victim.
Police said the victim was walking near Greenview and Lunt Avenues around 5:30 a.m., when she was grabbed and dragged to a construction site, and sexually assaulted.
A construction worker reporting for work heard the woman screaming for help.
The attacker fled, taking the victim's purse.
CTA surveillance cameras on the nearby Red Line captured images of the suspected attacker entering a nearby train station and boarding a train.
Investigators collected clothing from the crime scene Wednesday afternoon.
Neighbors in the area said the attack has them looking over their shoulders, and very much on guard.
"We've had a rash of assaults, robberies, and things of that nature; and I just think people here in the community just need to be more proactive and aware, and try to work together as a community," Rogers Park resident Lashone Simmons said. "And perhaps we can cut down on some of the violence, and some of the assaults and things that go on."
Police had a very limited description of the attacker, so were warning local residents to be alert as they are walking around the area, especially near the busy Red Line stop near where the woman was attacked.
