Woman Robbed, Struck While Delivering Pizzas In Romeoville
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (STMW) -- A woman delivering pizzas for a southwest suburban restaurant was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night, then struck in the head with the gun.
The incident happened just after 10 p.m. Tuesday when the food delivery driver was dropping off pizzas at a home on Dunbridge Lane in Romeoville, according to a statement from Romeoville police.
When she arrived, three suspects approached, all wearing hoods, approached the vehicle, pulled her out, and told her to give them her money, she told police.
She was then "forcefully sat on the back seat of the vehicle and held at gunpoint" while the suspects searched the vehicle. One of the suspects struck her in the head with the gun while rifling through the vehicle.
The offenders then ran away eastbound, taking an undetermined amount of cash, the victim's cell phone and several pizzas, police said.
The driver suffered a minor head injury but she refused medical attention, according to police.
The suspects were described only as males.
