Woman Raped At Gary Train Station Killed In Hit-And-Run
GARY, Ind. (CBS) -- A 69-year-old woman who was raped at a northwest Indiana train station in August was killed in a hit-and-run on Sunday.
Patricia Watson was crossing the 3800 block of Broadway after leaving Hunter's Inn in Gary, Ind., when a gray Buick traveling north struck her as she was walking west across the four-lane road, according to Gary Police Cpl. Gabrielle King.
The driver didn't stop at the scene. The Buick had a green light at the time, King said.

Watson died at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. She had neither drugs nor alcohol in her system, King said.
One witness provided police with a description of the car, King said.
"We didn't get a license plate, so we're hoping someone else saw something, or someone mentioned it," she added.
Watson was the victim of sexual assault in August at the South Shore shelter near Lake Street. Aarion Teri Lee Mosley, 16, of 1119 Cass St., was charged with multiple felonies after admitting to the assault, police said. Northern Indiana Public Transportation Commuter District police arrested Mosley and recovered a handgun and other evidence.
Lake County Prosecutor Bernard Carter said he will review the case and decide how to proceed.
"The defendant has confrontation rights, that will be a big consideration and something we may have to argue," Carter said.
Watson recently filed a tort claim against NICTD saying the district failed to provide adequate security, which led to her assault.
Lowell attorney Paul Rossi, who represented Watson, said he plans to carry forward with the lawsuit.
"My office and those who worked with her are devastated by the loss," Rossi said Tuesday. "We offer our condolences to the family."
