Woman Killed, Man Wounded In Calumet City Shooting
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman was killed and a man wounded in a shooting late Wednesday at a gas station in south suburban Calumet City.
The shooting happened in the 200 block of Torrence Avenue about 11:40 p.m., according to a statement from Calumet City police.
A 19-year-old man and 19-year-old woman both suffered multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
The Calumet City woman was taken to a hospital, where she died, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed the death, but the woman's name was not released Thursday morning.
The Chicago man was taken to a trauma center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
A blue car with shot-out windows could be seen parked at a gas pump at the Go-Lo gas station early Thursday.
