Woman Killed In Hit-Run In Lakeview
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 56-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run the Lakeview neighborhood .
Police said 56-year-old Dorota Cieslinska was heading west on Roscoe Street shortly after 9 p.m., when she was struck by a red Jeep Renegade headed south on Halsted Street.
The driver of the Jeep did not stop, and fled south on Halsted after hitting Cieslinska, according to police.
Several people saw what happened and called 91.
Keith Van said he tried to perform CPR on the woman before paramedics arrived. She was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Police have released a surveillance camera image of the Jeep, and have asked anyone with information to contact the Major Accident Investigation Unit at 312-745-4521.
