Woman Hospitalized In Critical Condition After North Lawndale Fire
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman remained hospitalized as of last report, after being critically injured in a fire in the North Lawndale neighborhood building where she lived.
The fire broke out shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of South Christiana Avenue, fire officials said.
The woman, who was older than 60, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital after suffering smoke inhalation. The Sun-Times Media Wire reported she was in "extremely critical" condition.
The cause and origin of the fire remained unknown Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
