Woman Gives Birth In Minivan In Prentice Hospital Driveway
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A hospital driveway turned into a delivery room Thursday evening, after a baby literally couldn't wait to be born.
It was caught on CBS 2 reporter Mike Puccinelli's camera as the girl was born in her parents' minivan after, they pulled up to Prentice Women's Hospital on the Northwestern Memorial Hospital campus.
CBS 2's Dana Kozlov reports Prentice nurses came running out after the parents pulled up, and less than two minutes later, the baby girl entered the world from the back seat of the minivan.
Soon after, the newborn was whisked into the hospital to be checked out.
Shortly after that, the mother was wheeled off in a wheelchair, as anxious father Marcus Ross fluttered about, making sure she was being taken care of.
Relieved, and with a big smile on his face, he shared the big news: "It's a baby girl!"
He then got four other children out of the minivan to go inside and find mom.
The baby appeared to be fine, but no updates were available from the hospital or the father as of Friday morning.
