Woman Found In Abandoned Building Was Slain
CHICAGO (STMW) -- An autopsy has concluded that a woman found dead in an abandoned Roseland neighborhood building this week was the victim of a homicide.
The woman, who remained unidentified Thursday morning, was found dead at 10415 S. Michigan Ave. and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9 a.m. Tuesday, the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said. A spokesman indicated the woman was a battery victim.
The woman, believed to be in her 20s, was found unresponsive in the abandoned building at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said. He could not confirm the woman was battered.
An autopsy Wednesday revealed that the woman died from multiple injuries and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.
