Woman Dead After Suburban Crash
WESTCHESTER, Ill. (STMW) - A woman died Monday after the vehicle she was driving collided with another vehicle and struck a tree in west suburban Westchester.
At 2:40 p.m., two vehicles traveling west on Cermak Road collided, went off the road and struck different trees near Portsmouth Avenue, Westchester police Sgt. Jeff Mersch said.
The female driver -- identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as 49-year-old Sandra Caban -- was the only occupant in one of the vehicles, Mersch said.
Caban, of Berkeley, was pronounced dead at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood at 4:20 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.
The two occupants of the second vehicle were taken to an unidentified hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
It is currently unknown if charges or citations will be issued as the crash is under investigation.
