Woman Charged With DUI In Crash That Killed Male Passenger
OSWEGO, Ill. (STMW) -- A Yorkville man was killed when the car he was a passenger in crashed early Sunday morning in west suburban Oswego, the Beacon News is reporting.
Jason B. Callahan, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kendall County Coroner's Office, authorities said.
The driver, Kristen M. Leonard, 31, of West Chicago was traveling in the 5000 block of Minkler Road about 12:02 a.m. when her vehicle struck a guardrail, police officials said.
Leonard was transported by ambulance to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora for medical treatment.
Capt. Jeff Burgner, media relations officer for the Oswego Police Department, said Leonard has been charged with aggravated driving under the influence-death, aggravated DUI-great bodily harm, improper lane use and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Burgner said the crash is under investigation by Oswego police.
