Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty After Police Discover Emaciated Dog
DOLTON, Ill. (CBS) -- A Dolton woman has been charged with animal cruelty after the discovery of an emaciated dog outside her home, according to Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart.

Cook County Sheriff's Police Animal Crimes Unit went to the home at the 15400 block of East End Avenue in Dolton and found after getting a tip about suspected animal neglect.
They found eight pit bull mixes outside, with some of the dogs in pens and crates and some chained to a fence. The dogs did not have any food or water and one dog was emaciated. Seven others were in fair condition.
Amanda Wise, 29, was charged with one count of animal cruelty and eight counts of owner's duties.
The Cook County Sheriff's Police said that there was no indication of dog fighting at the home.
South Suburban Humane Society took custody of the dogs and they were taken to a veterinarian for treatment.
