Police Chief Steven Casstevens says Beeman allegedly broke into a house in the 400 block of St. Mary's Parking wrongly thinking there were drugs and money there.

Once inside, he is alleged to have stabbed four people and a German shepherd. One of those people, a 47-year old man, remains hospitalized.

Piston, the dog, still needs medical treatment and a GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for it. So far, fundraisers are nearing their goal of $6,000.

Police still believe the home invasion was not a random crime. Casstevens says investigators have not been able to link Beeman to anyone in the house.

"We also learned that Beeman is wanted in Wisconsin by the Dept of Corrections for charges relating to resisting a peace officer," the chief says.

Police say Beeman is from Arkdale, Wis., which is in the central part of that state.

Buffalo Grove police say Beeman was the suspicious person found with bloody pants and a bloody hunting knife at a gas station about a mile from where the home invasion took place.

He is now believed to have been the only person who broke into the house Another person was reportedly outsid, and police are still looking for that person.
