UPDATED 06/09/11 8:48 a.m.
BELLWOOD, Ill. (CBS) -- Train traffic on the Metra Union Pacific Line to and from the western suburbs was halted Thursday morning, after electrical wires fell across the tracks.
Metra officials told CBS 2 they were stopping all traffic near the Bellwood station due to the wires that fell across the tracks near Wolf Road.
CBS 2 digital assets manager Rick Kramer was on one of the trains that was stopped. At 8:18 a.m., he reported the conductor said they were waiting for ComEd crews to remove the wire.
Metra electric engineering personnel were also dispatched.
By 8:47 a.m., trains were again moving slowly, Kramer reported.
