Patrick Schuch of Western Springs has been winter golfing at the annual outing for the past 35 years, and tells the SouthtownStar that the ball actually goes farther when the ground is frozen.
Some golfers were actually disappointed that all the snow had melted, calling the game more interesting when there is snow on the course.
Golfers were bundled up in heavy coats, hats and gloves, choosing to ride the links either in a heated golf cart, or walk.
Either way, it was a fast game. One player told the SouthTown Star there is little dilly-dallying going on when it's so cold outside.
