Windows Shot Out In 3 St. Charles Buildings
ST. CHARLES, Ill. (CBS) -- Police are looking for the vandals who shot out the windows in three buildings in St. Charles this past weekend, including a nursing home.
The first incident happened around 8 p.m. Saturday, when a small "projectile" went through a window in the Provena Pine View Care Center, a nursing home in the 600 block of Allen Drive, St. Charles police said.
Then at 7:20 a.m. on Sunday a police officer saw the front glass door had been shot out at a closed business in the 1700 block of Wallace Avenue.
Finally, around 7 p.m. Sunday, homeowners found holes in the windows of their house in the 200 block of North 6th Street, police said.
While police only described the damage as being caused by "projectiles," the Daily Herald said it was bullets.
Witnesses saw a dark-colored compact car leaving the scene from one of the incidents, police said.
Police believe these were random acts.
Anyone with information is asked to call St. Charles police Cmdr. Jerry Gatlin, at (630) 443-3739, the Daily Herald reported. A reward is being offered for information that leads police to the offenders.
