Broken Window Rains Glass On Magnificent Mile
(CBS) – A window shattered and rained broken glass on the Magnificent Mile Thursday evening amid strong winds.
Alicia Slaughter was inside Macy's getting some make up. At first, she thought hail was falling, but then quickly realized, it was glass from the store at Michigan and Pearson.
Allie Vladimiroff, who says she was panhandling, tells CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot she was hit by glass.
"I have a headache, a little bit, but I'm fine. It was just shocking and crazy," she says.
Police swarmed the scene and closed lanes of traffic while investigating. No serious injuries were reported.
Macy's was investigating and declined comment about what may have happened.
