Willowbrook Police Release Sketch Of Attack Suspect

Updated 08/31/15 - 7:19 a.m.

(CBS) – A 26-year-old woman in southwest suburban Willowbrook tells police she was beaten and stabbed by a home invader Saturday afternoon and now police have released a sketch of the suspect.

Police arrived at the 700 block of 73rd Court after receiving an emergency call around 1 p.m., and finding a woman who appeared to be beaten, Willowbrook Deputy Police Chief Mark Altobella said.

She was rushed to the hospital, and told investigators a man broke into her home and attacked her, after first asking her for money in the driveway, Altobella said. The victim told the man to leave or she would call police.

"At that point, he forced his way in," Altobella said.

A friend of the victim's family said the woman had multiple stab wounds, but was expected to recover.

"This is a relatively safe community. This is unusual for this to happen in Willowbrook," Altobella said.

The victim said the offender had been driving an older model dark brown or blue Nissan Altima with no front license plate. A car matching the description of the suspect's vehicle was found Sunday night in west suburban Brookfield.

Willowbrook police have released a sketch of the suspect. He is described as an African-American man, approximately 30-years-old, 5'10" tall and between 160-180 pounds and hair pulled or combed back with dread-type curls on the ends. He was wearing a blue short sleeve shirt and dark colored khaki shorts.

Anyone with information is asked contact the Willowbrook Police Department Investigations by calling (630) 325-2808 or (630) 325-2121.
