Will White Sox Keep Jenks?
Bobby Jenks' future with the White Sox is up in the air as the deadline to tender contracts approaches Dec. 2nd and Jenks is a non-tender candidate. The White Sox have to decide if they're keeping the right-handed closer as they make their 2011 contract offers.
2010 was a down year for the pitcher and this was the fourth season his saves total dropped and his ERA was the highest of his career. However, he did suffer a number of injuries which hindered his performance and kept him out of games.
White Sox's general manager Ken Williams said "That's something we have to evaluate strongly, because I've been disappointed on a number of levels," before the season's final games.
We could see Jenks traded before the deadline or the White Sox could non-tender him and make him a free-agent. The least likely, but still possible, scenarios is the Sox offer Jenks a one-year, incentive-laden deal worth less than his current value.
