Will County Workers Complain Of Stench At Recorder's Office
JOLIET, Ill. (CBS) -- Workers at the Will County Recorder of Deeds office have been complaining of a rotten stench in the office, but officials haven't been able to figure out what's causing it.
Dave Delrose, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 1028 – which represents union employees at the office – said the sewage-like smell comes and goes and "some days it's very overwhelming."
After workers in the office complained, investigators from the Illinois Department of Labor inspected the office space at 58 E. Clinton St. in Joliet. Spokeswoman Anjali Julka said the case remains open.

Will County Building Maintenance Supervisor Mike Miglorini also investigated, but he said he couldn't smell any unusual odors.
"We will do whatever it takes to make it right, but I have to smell it and investigate it to know where it's coming from," Miglorini said.
Delrose said the intermittent smell has at times been so bad that building management brought in fans to clear the air. He also said similar complaints have come from parishioners at the neighboring Saint Anthony's Church.
"There was a couple ladies that came in … looking for the name and the name and the number of the inspector, because they get the same smell," he said.
Delrose said the stench is worse on the first floor, and employees suspect it somehow might be linked to recent rains. He said it's a serious problem, and denied any connection to union contract negotiations. The union workers there have been without a contract since October.
