Will County Gets A Good Dog To Help Kids Traumatized By Abuse
JOLIET -- The Will County state's attorney's office has a new employee.
He's a 3-year-old, 63-pound labrador retriever named Jackson.
State's Attorney Jim Glasgow says Jackson is a therapy dog and comforts children who have suffered the trauma of sexual abuse.

The dog has joined the staff of the Will County Children's Advocacy Center in Joliet.
Their job is to interview children victimized by abuse, and those interviews are sensitive given the age and the topic.
Jackson, will greet children when they arrive. Workers there say Jackson has already had success calming and comforting kids as they deal with trauma.
Jackson was originally trained to be a guide dog for the blind.
However, he was too distracted by rabbits to guide a blind person. So, Will County is reaping the benefits of his career change.
