White Sox's True Identity Might Not Be Seen Until June
CHICAGO (WSCR) The Chicago White Sox got off to a horrific start to the 2011 season, but seem to have turned things around, winning their last five series. Sitting eight games back of the Cleveland Indians which is the truer version of the White Sox: early season or the last five series?
"I don't know what this team is," Joe Cowley, of the Chicago Sun-Times, said on the Danny Mac Show. "That's the thing, I don't know if they know what they are. They're so hechy sketchy upstairs with some of their hitting. I think the thing that Sox fans can feel good about is the bullpen is stabilized after remaking itself, basically remaking itself on the fly, becuase of the closer situation.

"And the starting rotation, whether it's six-man or they do kick it down to five-man, these guys seem to be getting into their groove. Now you're still going to have your blow ups still, Edwin Jackson is still always going to be kind of a head-scratcher, and [John] Danks has some mental things going on. But with [Jake] Peavy back there, that's Danks' boy, so I think he can definitely kind of feed off of what Peavy brings.
"So that part of the team, they should feel really good about. The hitting, the [Gordon] Beckham, the [Alex] Rios, the [Adam] Dunn, that stuff, to me, is still evolving still and we might not see what it's going to be until June, and they need to hang on and hope that they can scratch out enough runs until then, until they all start getting into a flow and kind of get this thing going."
