White Sox To Name Broadcast Level After Hawk
CHICAGO (WSCR) On Thursday, the Chicago White Sox announced that they would officially rename the the broadcast level at U.S. Cellular Field the "Hawk Harrelson Broadcast Level."
During a ceremony on Friday, the team will place a plaque outside of the stadium's television and radio broadcast booths to commemorate Harrelson's contributions to the White Sox.
Over his broadcasting career, Harrelson has earned plenty of accolades, including five Emmy awards and two "Illinois Sportscaster of the Year" awards. He was also selected as a finalist for Major League Baseball's "Ford Frick Award" and was honored with the 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Comcast SportsNet Awards dinner, benefitting March of Dimes.
