White Sox Sign Reliever Jesse Crain
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The White Sox have signed right-handed reliever Jesse Crain.
The Sox signed Crain to a three-year, $13 million contract Wednesday, according to published reports.
Crain made his debut in 2004 with the Minnesota Twins.
Back in 2005 when he made the Major League roster, Crain set a record for the most consecutive wins in relief to begin a career. But he ended up missing most of the 2007 season after being placed on the disabled list and undergoing surgery.
Returning in 2008, Crain later became Twins manager Ron Gardenhire's go-to pitcher in the eighth inning of close-games, and didn't allow a run for 35 out of 38 appearances last season.
