White Sox Reach One-Year Deal With Catcher Tyler Flowers
(CBS) – The Chicago White Sox avoided arbitration by coming to terms on a one-year, $950,000 contract with catcher Tyler Flowers, the team announced Monday.
Flowers, 27, hit .195 (50-256) with 10 home runs and 24 RBI over 84 games last season, his fifth in the White Sox organization. He underwent season-ending shoulder surgery on Sept. 5.
Chicago has three remaining arbitration-eligible players: infielder Gordon Beckham and outfielders Alejandro De Aza and Dayan Viciedo.
The White Sox 40-man roster is at 38.
