White Sox, Rays Complete Crain Trade
(CBS) It's been nearly six weeks, but the White Sox and Rays have completed the trade for Jesse Crain.
The White Sox will receive Rays minor league pitcher Sean Bierman, infielder Ben Kline and cash in exchange for the right-handed reliever.
Crain was injured when the trade was made, causing a delay in the White Sox's compensation.
The 24-year-old Bierman went 6-5 with a 2.55 ERA in 14 starts and four relief appearances in the Rays minor league system this season.
Kline, also 24, hit .246 with 14 runs and 15 RBIs in 40 games in 2013, while playing multiple position in the minors.
Crain never pitched for Tampa Bay.
