White Sox-Orioles Game Postponed, Amid Unrest In Baltimore
(CBS/AP) -- Monday evening's game between the White Sox and Orioles in Baltimore has been postponed due to safety concerns, the Orioles announced on Twitter, as unrest in the city grew Monday.
The latest round of demonstrations and rioting follow the recent death of Freddie Gray, 25, an African-American suspect who had been taken into police custody. The protests were within a couple miles of Camden Yards, 670 The Score's Chris Rongey said this afternoon on the Boers and Bernstein Show.
About 1,000 fans were inside the stadium when the game was called off, and many gates already had been closed, the Associated Press reported.
The Orioles said the game was postponed following consultation with local police. A make-up hasn't yet been announced. The postponement was announced about a half-hour before the scheduled first pitch.
After consultation with Baltimore City Police Department, tonight's game between the Orioles & White Sox at Oriole Park has been postponed.

The White Sox and Orioles are also scheduled to play Tuesday and Wednesday evening at Camden Yards. This is the only trip of the season that the White Sox are scheduled to make to Baltimore.
Hector Noesi and Ubaldo Jimenez were scheduled to pitch Monday evening. Jeff Samardzija and Chris Sale are set to go in the next two games for Chicago, so it's a strong possibility that Noesi's turn would be skipped.
Baltimore police assembled over the weekend near Camden Yards, amid earlier demonstrations and protests.
