White Sox Offer Arbitration To Konerko And Putz, Not A.J.
(WSCR) - It the time of year when tough decisions need to be made by MLB general managers as to the future of some f their players.
The Chicago White Sox have offered salary arbitration to free agent first baseman Paul Konerko and right-handed pitcher J.J. Putz, but the club has declined to offer arbitration to free agent catcher A.J. Pierzynski and designated hitter Manny Ramirez.
By offering arbitration to Konerko, 34, and Putz, 33, the White Sox preserve the right to draft pick compensation should either player sign with another club.
The White Sox remain free to negotiate with and sign any of their remaining free agents, regardless of whether arbitration was offered.
A Chicago White Sox press release contributed to this report.
