White Sox Need Wins Before West Coast Trip
CHICAGO (WSCR) The Chicago White Sox have a half-game lead over the Minnesota Twins, but it's not for first place in the division like many expected it would be before the season started.
The Twins and the White Sox are the bottom two teams in the AL Central, and if the White Sox want to try and climb their way to the top of the division, there's no better time to start than now.
"No matter who we're playing, whether it's the Twins, Royals or anybody, someone who's not in our division, it's important for us to win games," White Sox reliever Jesse Crain said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "We haven't been doing that a lot lately. We pulled one out [Monday] night. It would be great to be able to win two more games before our off-day and on to the West Coast."

The White So are 11-16 and have a team batting average of .242 (21st in baseball) and a team earned run average of 4.44 (22nd in baseball). On Friday, the White Sox start a nine-game road trip that includes stops in Seattle, Anaheim and Oakland.
"It's been a rough go of it so far, but I think we're turning things around," Crain said. "If we can string a couple more wins together, you know, especially against the Twins, that would be great for morale and heading in to the West Coast [road trip]."
