White Sox Bring Up Catcher Phegley, Outfielder Tekotte

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The White Sox have called up catcher Josh Phegley and outfielder Blake Tekotte from AAA Charlotte, and designated backup catcher Hector Gimenez for assignment.

Phegley, 25, batted .316 in 61 games for the Knights this season, hitting 18 doubles, 15 home runs and 41 RBI. He also threw out 40.7 percent of the baserunners who tried to steal off him.

He won a minor league Gold Glove last year at Charlotte, and has thrown out more than 46 percent of would-be base stealers in his five years in the minors.

Tekotte, 26, was batting .249 at Charlotte with 26 doubles, 26 RBI, and 10 stolen bases in 58 games. He played three games for the White Sox in April, going hitless in only two at-bats as he played largely as a defensive replacement in late innings.

Gimenez, 30, was hitting only .191 with two home runs and 10 RBI in 23 games as the backup to Tyler Flowers this year.
