White Sox Are All In
The Chicago White Sox made some big moves in the offseason with the acquisition of Adam Dunn, resigning Paul Konerko, among adding other big players to the line up. It's clear the team has big goals in mind for 2011 and beyond.
Assistant general manager of the White Sox Rick Hahn told Hit & Run Sunday that the franchise was considering one of two directions they were going to go. They were either going to build around the younger players and move some of the veterans around or do what they did this offseason. The White Sox decided to expand payroll and get aggressive in aquiring players.

"We already had a starting rotation, which if it included a healthy Jake Peavy, would be among the best in baseball," Rick Hahn told Spiegel and Rozner on Hit & Run. "We already felt like we had some of the hardest things to acquire in baseball ready to go. Additionally, we felt like we were strong up the middle with Beckham and Ramirez and Rios in center."
The mindset of the White Sox is clear that they are all in this season with the big moves they made, but it hasn't just been this year the Sox had winning on their mind.
"Ever since Kenny [Williams] has been in the big chair, every year the goal has been to win," Hahn said. "The coaching staff is still approaching things the same way [as before]."
