White Sox A 'Two-Week Streak' Away From 1st Place?
(WSCR) The White Sox's 44-48 record through the first 92 games of the season hasn't necessarily led to optimism among their fans. And to make matters worse, they suffered a 3-1 series loss to the Twins heading into the All-Star break.
"Fortunately for the White Sox, they're playing in a division that nobody is running away with," baseball analyst Dave Campbell said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "And as poorly as they've performed in the first half, I mean, [John] Danks getting out 0-8, and [Alex] Rios and [Adam] Dunn, I mean they're still within striking distance."

The White Sox are five games back of the Detroit Tigers, and only only a half-game back of the Cleveland Indians. Once their games resume on Friday, the White Sox will play 12 consecutive games against divisional opponents, including six agaisnt the Tigers and three against the Indians.
"They're a two-week streak away from being in first place in that division," Campbell said.
But for that kind of streak to happen, Dunn will have to start looking like the player the White Sox thought they were signing to a big contract.
"I don't know what Dunn's problem is," Campbell said. "...I suppose they've probably had his eyes checked, and they've probably had a few other things [checked]. But, you know, confidence is such a part of this game and I know Ozzie [Guillen] is thinking, 'if he could just have a couple back-to-back games, all of a sudden he's going to take off and go and he's going to put up the numbers he has in the past' But I don't know if that's going to happen or not. I'm not clairvoyant enough to know that."
